This is a color theory workshop with a focus in painting. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned artist, this workshop will give you practice mixing and better understanding color. Do your paintings look flat? It's probably because you're not exercising the power of complimentary colors - We'll teach you these terms and definitions, the color wheel, color tricks and their psychological, personal, and emotional implications. The gallery has plenty of easels onsite, so you won't have to lug yours with you! You'll be able to try oils, acrylics or watercolors. The course assumes you can quickly sketch a simple still life setup as a prerequisite.
Week 1: Color theory & mixing practice
Weeks 2, 3, & 4: You will paint a different still life each week that enforces concepts learned in week one. We're not looking for realism, we're looking for speed and pushing the color!
Week 5: practice embellishing giclées if you wish, or paint whatever you want!
