Our secondary market fine art is typically investment-level art that is being offered by a collector and is not owned by the LoPressionism Gallery. The Gallery is acting as the broker for these pieces which may not always be on-site at the Gallery. If you have qualifying fine art that you are interested in selling through us, please see the fee schedule below.
QUALIFYING FINE ART
The LoPressionism Gallery reserves the right to be highly selective about the art we sell through our secondary market. We do not accept craft items, antique furniture, most collectible figurines or works from non-professional artists. Will will not accept art from artists trying to solicit their own work. The LoPressionism Gallery does not carry the responsibility of authenticating or appraising the fine art, we simply relay what the Seller claims. Any descrepancies or claims found to be false must be handled directly between the Buyer and Seller. We at the LoPressionism Gallery will do our best to ensure all Sellers are credible.
FEE SCHEDULE:
We charge the Seller a non-refundable $40.00 setup fee up front, and 10% commission once the work is sold. The setup fee includes photographing and digitizing up to 2 images of no more than 2 separate pieces of artwork for use on the SecondaryMarket webpage, a print version on site at the gallery and publication in our newsletters. If you provide your own digital or regular photographs that are of good quality*, the setup fee is only $25.00 for up to two separate pieces of artwork. *Digital photos must be at least 150 dpi, at least 500 pixels wide and free from excessive glare.
The Seller will set the price on the art. LoPressionism Gallery will advertise it via the means mentioned above and will handle the transaction. The Gallery will NOT keep the artwork on site, it is to be maintained by the Seller until time of purchase. The 10% commission fee includes the credit card fees we absorb, the collecting and forwarding of sales tax and general administrative activities involved with coordinating appointments between Buyer and Seller and handling/packaging of artwork to be shipped. The Seller of the artwork will receive a check for 90% of the purchase price from LoPressionism Gallery once all money exchanges between the Gallery and the Buyer have been settled and checks have cleared (generally within 30 days).
PROCEDURE:
1. Seller must complete our secondary market agreement. It can be downloaded here: (Agreement) or obtained at the Gallery. The agreement will include all details about the art.
2.
Send / bring the completed agreement along with up to two photographs of each piece you wish to sell, to LoPressionism Gallery at 1010-B East New Haven Avenue • Melbourne, FL 32901. Phone 321-722-6000 for driving directions or see our home page. We will review the pieces to determine if they are suitable for our market & venue, then scan/digitize the approved photographs after the setup fee is collected.
3. If you do not have photos of the artwork, you can call the Gallery for an appointment and we can take digitial photos of them at the Gallery. NOTE: we are NOT professional photographers and make no claim to be! The photographing of up to two pieces of art is included in the $40.00 set up fee.
4. Be available to bring the art to the Gallery and meet with potential buyers during scheduled appointments.
