Flocked White Tree
FUSION:
THE BIGGEST SALE EVER FOR LOPRESSIONISM & COTTAGE!!!

LoPressionism Gallery of Fine Art and the legendary Christmas Cottage are now under the same roof...and there is not enough room for both of us! Join us Jan. 2nd - Jan. 25th as we host our biggest sale ever in the history of both businesses from jewelry to ornaments to our beautiful fine art.

There are full size Christmas trees that regularly sell for hundreds of dollars on sale from $29.99-$59.99! What's the catch? These are display models that have some burned out lights - that's it!! These stunning trees will be sold as is and don't include the ornaments. Once the word gets out, the selection is bound to go quickly, so stop in and pick out your tree before they're all gone. Both businesses also have many other items on sale from 40% off to 70% off (including all Art in Motion decorative prints)!

FUSION: THE EXHIBIT
We're kicking off this "Fusion" of businesses on Jan. 30th from 6pm - 9pm! A portion of the proceeds from the January 30th opening will benefit the Brevard Business Leadership Network. To view a sample of the featured artists work, click here.

ARTIST OPPORTUNITY
The Children's Home Society of Florida is currently seeking artist donations for their 2nd Annual Portraits of Possibilities event being held March 28, 2009 at the home of Dr. Robert & Mrs. Maria Seelman. They are looking for about twenty pieces of art for their live and silent auctions including paintings, sculpture, jewelry, prints, etc. All of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Brevard division of the Children's Home Society and the children they serve. This high-end, high-profile function will provide great exposure to participating artists and the donations should be tax-deductable. ODE TO LAYAWAY
You might be a bit nervous about high quality gifts for birthdays and holidays since layaway plans have been removed at major retailers. However, we see layaway as a great choice for customers who would like to take advantage of a special offer or price and aren't necessarily ready to take delivery right away or because of a tight budget. We're now offering customers a full year payment plan for items placed on layaway! To keep your layaway purchase active and current, simply make one payment a month, and you can have the perfect gift items paid off with no credit woes for Christmas 2009. * Some sale items are not eligible for layaway.

If you would like to earn some extra cash during the slow summer months and have a special skill or craft you would like to teach others, please send us a business proposal with the requested information from our Workshop Proposals page which can be found by clicking here. Please include with your proposal a basic resume describing your experience in the medium or skill you wish to teach as well as your experience teaching it. The information can be mailed to LoPressionism Gallery 1002 East New Haven Ave. Melbourne, FL. 32901 or emailed to info@lopressionism.com.

THE POWER OF ART
Art has always been known to make an impression on its viewers. Whether good or bad, one rarely looks at a work that does not arouse feeling. When visiting museums, galleries or even the local coffee shop many of us find ourselves completely enthralled in various works of art either because of their meaning or their beauty. One of the best examples of how art affects us is Michelangelo's David. Considered one of the world's most beautiful statues, the work is so powerful, that a study by top psychiatrist, Dr. Graziella Magherini, has shown that it can trigger severe emotional reactions. "In the past 10 years, Magherini has studied more than 100 people who were rushed to Florence's Santa Maria Nuova hospital suffering from [Stendhal] syndrome as they were absorbed in contemplation of great works of art... Interviews and comments in the gallery's guest book indicate that gazing upon the masterpiece can cause heavy perspiration, rapid heartbeat, stomach pains, dizziness and even exaggerated reactions such as hallucinations." Art is intended to evoke emotion. It appeals to our humanity. It is the reason we put photos on our shelves, paintings on our walls and sculptures in our gardens filling our lives with positive imagery.
