The artists of our "Rip Curl" show, Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson and Jim Hannan, will be in the gallery talking about their artistic processes and giving a demo on how they create their mixed media works. So, if you'd like to learn more about mixed media techniques and why we call these works art, and you wonder where these artists get their ideas, be sure to come in for their inspiring demos. THE GHOST ENCOUNTER The Christmas Cottage and LoPressionism Gallery are hosting the very first Ghost Encounter and haunted Scavenger Hunt in our over 100 year old building. There will be a whole slew of Halloween themed activities going on such as tarot readings, face painting, and photo opportunities with the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future (courtesy of the Melbourne Civic Theater). We will also be having a small "Gallery of Ghouls" art festival in our parking lot featuring festive works of art. Inside will be LoPressionism Gallery's "Bodies & Beyond" featuring the art of Sia Aryai, Audry Cramblit, J. Lynn Kelly, & Brenda Kendrick Truesdale. The crowning jewel of the Ghost Encounter is the haunted Scavenger Hunt. For 5 dollars per person, you can help solve a Christmas murder mystery. Winners will receive a prize of scary proportions! LOPRESSIONISM AT FRIDAY FEST Check us out at this months Friday Fest on August 14th from 6-9 pm in Historic Downtown Melbourne. MAINSTREET MASTERS OF ART FESTIVAL It is that time of year again, time to fall for the arts in Historic Downtown Melbourne. GALLERY OF GHOULS We’re currently looking for artists to participate in our “Gallery of Ghouls Art Show" on October 24th from 12-5 outside, in the Christmas Cottage Parking lot. Artists will be given a 10’ x 10’ space for $40.00 to showcase and sell their own “creepy” and festive creations. Please include a sample of your work, as all works are subject to review.
