NEW RELEASE FLOHR & ASENCIO They have done it again. Michael Flohr and Henry Asencio have both released a new masterpiece now available as limited editions! Flohr's piece entitled "Let It Ride" is set in a casino. It includes both players and spectators, winners and losers. To Flohr, you must take risks to gain rewards, not only in the casino, but in life as well. This work is one that parallels luck with hope, the virtue of risk for reward and the thrill of beating the odds so keep your money on the table - and let it ride. To view more of Michael Flohr's work, click here. Henry Asencio has created a piece that is a commentary on the dualities of life and the search for refuge ending with "Solace." He feels that true sanctuary may only be found within. Asencio encourages us to seek beauty in our lives, be in the present moment and gain solace in the fact that the power to overcome life’s obstacles lies within. INVESTING IN ART During these less than easy economic times, many individuals are on the search for alternative investment opportunities. Art as investment has now been around for a long time not only for capital gain but also for the pleasure of the purchase. One must remember before buying art that investment should not be the sole reason for the acquisition. Always buy what you love. According to a leading investment web site, the people who are the most successful in art as an investment are those who recognize the beauty of the work, the rarity, and the historical significance. Art can be a great way to diversify your portfolio because it has a unique ability to survive economic down turn (due to its increasing demand and limited supply). Art also has something that all other investment opportunities do not have... Its societal role goes beyond its investment value. Art provokes thought, elicits emotions, and provides beauty. And, its intrinsic value will ALWAYS be there. For more information on art investing click here and here. |

YOU KNOW YOU'RE AN ARTIST WHEN 1. You draw your letters instead of write them. 2. You know that art does not match your sofa. 3. You watch the latest kids' digital animation movies and drool over the effects as much as the story. 4. You are over 50 and still have no health insurance. 5. You know the difference between beige, ecru, cream, off-white, and eggshell. 6. You do judge a book by its cover. 7. You carry pencils instead of pens. 8. You explain your deplorably bad housekeeping by saying, "it's a work-in-progress..." 9. Your family takes out a life insurance plan on you for less than $5000. 10. You are having lunch with the girls and the fragrance you wear is eau d'linseed oil. |
