ART SHOW APPLICATION IMAGING SERVICE
Slides are a thing of the past, and to stay competitive in the art show circuit it has become necessary to have high-quality digital images of your art work. The new standard for art show applications is uploading your images directly onto the Internet using jurying systems such as Zapplication, CaFÉ & JAS. We know how overwhelming these systems can be if you are new to the digital world. Rest easy because we're here to help! Send us your slides, photos, or digital images, and for $20 an image, it will be sent back to you redigitized to the very specific requirements of Zapp, JAS or CaFÉ! For $5 more per image we will provide you with a CD-R of the image(s) and upload it to your online portfolio on one or all of the above jurying systems. To view more details on this service, click here! If you'd prefer to learn how to get your images ready yourself, click here for info on our "Going Digital for Artists" workshop.

DR. SEUSS ART EXHIBIT INVITATION LIST
The Lost Art of Dr. Seuss is an exhibit that is set to be released early fall of 2009. Not only was Dr. Seuss a talented children's author and illustrator, but his lesser known works consist of political cartoons, unorthodox taxidermy (as pictured on the right), and paintings. Since his death in 1991, a number of Dr. Seuss' lost stories, illustrations, and artworks have been found. The stories have been published, but the artworks have not. This yet-to-be-released show is going to be a complete surprise! The Lost Art has not been shown anywhere before. If you are interested in seeing another side of Dr. Seuss' legacy, support our Fourth Friday Film Fest, and call or e-mail to have your name put on our invitation list.

GOING DIGITAL FOR ARTISTS
"Going Digital for Artists" teaches anyone, especially artists, who need to photograph their work, format it electronically to submit to art shows, galleries, or trade shows, and upload photos using "Zapplication." - Zapp is an online image submission process many venues are now using to jury images. "Slides are quickly becoming a thing of the past", as Brian Abrahamson, fine art photographer and instructor for this course describes. Our workshop will bring computer novice artists into the digital age in a friendly and comfortable venue. Basic computer navigation skills are a pre-requisite for this workshop.

Students must register with a $20.00 non-refundable fee ahead of time to receive the software in advance. It works on both Mac & PC platforms. Load the software onto your computer according to the instructions we provide and become a little familiar with it before coming to class if you can. Bring your laptop or desktop computer to class with you if you like! The class is held on a Saturday afternoon with a one and a half hour lunch break.

This workshop is eligible for a minimum of 5 Teacher inservice points!

WEBSITES MADE EASY
This is a workshop we've devised in response to consistent queries from our customers looking for someone who can design an affordable website. We're pleased to introduce this new workshop to teach you how to do it yourself! We are partnering with Jeannie Masterson of "Andy's Web Tools". Andy's Web Tools is a product that allows you to build your own website using their pre-constructed templates. Spend the day with step-by-step instruction and lots of hand-holding. By the end of the day, you'll have a website with the opportunity to put it "on-line"; if you choose to sign up with Andy's Web Tools. (If so, the fee is less than $30 per month). There is no software to download - everything is internet based.

If you have attended "Going Digital for Artists" at LoPressionism the class is FREE! If you choose to sign up with Andy's Web Tools, the $99 sign up fee will be waived if you've taken ANY WORKSHOP at LoPressionism Gallery!

MAN WITH A GOLDEN HELMET
This framed original oil on canvas was painted by artist Reba Inverso. It is a copy of the work "Man with the Golden Helmet" originally believed to have been completed in 1650 by artist, Rembrandt van Rijn. Whether the original masterpiece was actually done by Rembrandt or by one of his contemporaries no longer matters. "Man with the Golden Helmet" has been celebrated for hundreds of years for the soft, subdued tones in the old warriors worn face which contrast the brimming gold of his armor. The painting will always be appreciated for the feelings of comfort, sadness and joy it has brought to generation after generation. The Old Masters are no longer available to guide a student and demonstrate how they actually work to achieve the perfection we see in their art. The ancient tradition of copying the successful works of Old Masters to learn their secrets is carried on today by artists who wish to develop similar skills and sensitivities to form. Reba has copied the original with near perfection capturing all of the qualities that were instilled inside of each of us the first time we were introduced to this image. Reba Inverso's copy of the masterwork measures 20" high x 16" wide. The asking price is $850.00. For inquiries, please call us at 321-722-6000 or 888-581-2787.

THE ART MARKET RISES AS THE STOCK MARKET FALLS
With rising gas prices and the continuing downward spiral of the stock market some investors are turning to the art market as an investment option. Analysts have confirmed that even though the art index fell last year (2007), this year it has been recording tremendous returns at both domestic and international auctions. Saffronart's recently concluded summer auction sold 70 percent of the selected works and of that, 66 percent sold for over the estimated value. At a recent Christie's auction Monet's "Le Bassin aux Nympheas" was expected to fetch $40 million and was actually bought at $80.5 million.
