TODD WHITE - New Releases
As a gift to all of us, nationally acclaimed artist, Todd White, has released his 2008 Dark & Light series early. Only eight pieces total have been released, and we currently have two of them ("Hard Candy" & "Someone's Pretty Baby") on site along with works from his 2007 White Hot Series. White chose the title "Hard Candy" after his friend expressed his true feelings for the painting. "White said ‘man, its still wet so don’t try to touch her” his friend replied with “I wish I could just suck on her like hard candy." White's inspiration comes from everywhere and he often finds himself staring at someone to take in all the little mannerisms they do. "Someone's Pretty Baby" comes from a woman who he says was defiantly telling her friend something secretive and so seductive it was killing him. She caught him more that once staring and he thought it was freaking her out.. He wanted to say to her, "I’m not a stalker I’m an artist” then says he remembered most artists are stalkers. Click here to see more of White's work. If you would like a private viewing of Todd White's art, please call us at 321-722-6000. |

THE ART OF CONSERVATION If you have a treasured piece of artwork that you hope to keep in your family for years to come, Art Business News and local framers agree that Conservation Framing is key in preserving artworks. Jody Carter of Art Expressions in Eau Gallie, says "If it's worth framing, it's worth protecting." And, because the technology of the industry grows so rapidly, she feels that one should find someone who is certified in framing. Because "art is in competition with time itself," as David from Creative Framing in Indian Harbour Beach stated, practicing conservation framing is the most cost effective way to keep a work from needing frequent restorations (which are often the reason for further deterioration). "It's most important to protect the integrity of the art," says Annette of Oceanside Framing in Indialantic which is all the more reason to take action early and see that your pieces are properly protected. DOODLES - 1st Annual Student Show We've finally hammered out the details for our first annual DOODLES show, and we're thrilled about seeing what Brevard County art students are producing. DOODLES is an acronym for Desire, Originality, Optimism, Dedication, Latitude, Education & Support: all key elements in becoming successful in the artworld. So, if you're one of those students who sits at your desk doodling instead of paying attention to what's on the blackboard, now may be your chance to show off your artistic talent. Submission packets are to be received at our gallery by June 6, 2008. The show will run from July 25 - September 30, a full ten week art exhibit with a professional art opening. To see other benefits and requirements for the show, click here to download the pdf file that has complete details. |

MISTELTOE A CHRISTMAS Sitting under the mistletoe (Pale-green, fairy mistletoe), One last candle burning low, All the sleepy dancers gone, Just one candle burning on, Shadows lurking everywhere: Some one came, and kissed me there. |
Tired I was; my head would go Nodding under the mistletoe (Pale-green, fairy mistletoe), No footsteps came, no voice, but only, Just as I sat there, sleepy, lonely, Stooped in the still and shadowy air Lips unseen - and kissed me there. - Walter de la Mare |
