Artist’s Statement
“I do not paint to make a statement about deep emotional issues. I paint because I love to create images that grabs a viewers attention, but not in a harsh way.

I project my sense of humor into my paintings and enjoy watching the viewer smile when they see my work.

My acrylic paintings combine simple compositions with vibrant color. In my “Tourist” series, the subjects faces are almost featureless, with deadpan expressions that seems to amplify the humor.

My painting style is both sharp and rough edged, modern and primitive. This contrast is the spark that draws the viewer in. Playing with the composition, and the interaction of colors make each painting an exciting process to create."
